  • I currently teach both master’s and doctoral courses as a member of the Counseling Programs, including: Counseling Theories, Practicum, Group Counseling, Process of Counseling, Psychopathology and Intervention Planning, and Transpersonal Psychology.
  • I directed JMU’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), which provides individual, couple, family and group counseling, along with psychological assessment, to children, adolescents, and adults in the community.
  • My early career goals included being a rock star; however, the world was not ready for me or my lack of talent, so I decided to study psychology instead.  I continue to write and play music in my spare time.
  • In addition to my teaching at James Madison University, I am an avid sailor and have captained several transatlantic journeys. Recent travel include trips through India, Japan, Sri Lanka, and Thailand to study East/West psychology and mental health service delivery.
  • I have been recognized by the JMU Mortarboard for Outstanding Teaching.
  • I have received the following awards:
