2007 - 2008 Academic Year Achievements

The following faculty were nominated for the College of Integrated Science and Technology (CISAT) awards:

  • Dr. Bryan Saville, Outstanding Junior Faculty

Kevin Apple received the 2008 Provost Award for Excellence in Academic Advising.

Kenn Barron received the National Academic Advising Association’s 2008 Outstanding Advising Award for Faculty Advising from the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA). He was also recognized by the Journal of Counseling Psychology for having the most cited articles of JCP in the past 10 years. He was awarded JMU’s Center for Assessment and Research Studies Assessment Summer Faculty Fellowship.

On October 14th, 2007, JoAnne Brewster received a Certificate of Appreciation from the International Association of Chiefs of Police Psychological Services Section “for her efforts to define the domains and proficiencies of police psychology while serving as a charter member of the Joint Committee on Police Psychology Competencies.”

Pam Gibson was listed in “Who’s Who in American Education, 2007-2008.”

Joann Grayson was included in “Who’s Who in American Education, 2007-2008” as well as the “Who’s Who in America 2008.”  Dr. Grayson was chosen as an Outstanding Educator for 2008 at JMU by the Gamma Tau Chapter of Delta Delta Delta. She also received the Gettysburg College Distinguished Alumni Award for 2008.

Jessica Irons received the Wilbert J. McKeachie Graduate Student Teaching Excellence Award, Division 2 of the American Psychological Association.

Cheryl Talley will be the recipient of the College of Integrated Science and Technology (CISAT) 2008 Distinguished Service Award.

Tracy Zinn received the 2007 Early Career Award through the Society for the Teaching of Psychology (APA Division 2).
