Students Participate in 4th Annual Day with the Dukes
On Saturday, September 25, 2010 Special Olympics Athletes from around the region came to participate in the 4th annual Day with the Dukes. More than 25 Special Olympics Athletes were joined by members of Psychology Peer Advising, Chi Sigma Iota, and Aletheia Church. The Special Olympics Athletes met and practiced with JMU athletes including members of the JMU football team, JMU men and women’s basketball team, and JMU women’s soccer team. The Special Olympics Athletes were excited to get autographs from everyone they met! Dinner was provided by JMU dining services. The Special Olympics Athletes attended the JMU vs. Liberty football game, where one of the members flipped the coin at the beginning of the game! All of the Athletes went home exhausted and were excited about telling their stories about the adventures they had throughout the day!

- Dr. Anne Stewart recently served as the emcee for the International Association for Play Therapy awards ceremony. She was also named President of the national APT Foundation Board. The role of the board is to raise funds for research in play therapy.
- The first clinic of the JMU Autism Center has begun operations. The Inter-Professional Autism Clinic (IPAC) provides in-depth assessment and multi-disciplinary intervention for children ages 3-5 years old with Autism or suspected Autism. For more information please view the IPAC flyer
